This project’s purpose was to persuade people to change their way of thinking. But it was also to learn more about how to create a documentary, blog, organize ideas, and evaluate our own documentary. I think what I learned most from this process was about the amazing technological advancements of the camcorder and how to put all the clips together. I was impressed by how much the camcorders could zoom in to something. I was quite amazed at the sharpness of the zoomed in bird, leaf or pinecone. What I found difficult was to keep the camcorder steady, which is evident all over the place in our documentary. It is very nice to have a camcorder that has the ability to zoom in so much especially on a documentary that needs clips of animals. It is very difficult to get a good clip of a bird without zoom in, so that was a positive. I have never seen a digital camera that can zoom in so far. I have a digital camera at home, but there is no way the video mode on it can match the unbelievable quality of the camcorder. I went outside every day to test the camcorder’s abilities. I got clips of a rare looking animal but accidentally filmed over it. I suppose that’s the danger of rewinding the tape and recording. Lastly, I learned a lot about how to put the clips together. I have to say that the experience with the camcorder was the most exciting part of the process.

Thursday during class, we went outside hoping to get interviews. I thought that our group did well in approaching possible interviewees. I was checking the sound quality for the interviews so I did not really persuade anyone to be in our documentary but I can tell how difficult it is to do so. Although the wind was blowing quite strong, the sound quality was perfect. Most of the groups managed to get about four interviews and overall, it was successful.

We may not want to get too creative on the title of this documentary. For example, something that just simply rhymes or a funny but not effective slogan. If people watching get a feeling that this is not a very serious documentary, they may not take any of it seriously which would make the documentary pointless. We could probably make the title Global Warming, with a convincing picture in the background to add to the overall effect. The introduction could be the first section of our documentary.

Are there enough people taking action?
What solution has the greatest effect and yet not very difficult to accomplish?/What should people do more often?
Is there enough awareness of these solutions?

Possible format for the documentary:
Describe one solution(ex. Hybrid cars)
Interviews of this solution(example of interview answer: “I drive a hybrid”or “I do not drive a hybrid”)
Describe another solution
Interviews of this solution
Same for the rest of the solutions
Graph using data collected from interviews(the number of people who took action in these ways)
Enough awareness?(Interviews)
Conclusion based on information collected
